Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
On a roundel per quarter Brick Red and Argent, a roundel barry wavy of the last and Azure (Light Blue).  The insignia is 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
The four sections of the larger disc represent the four Arctic seasons through which the Command operates.  The two sections in Transportation Corps color, brick red, symbolize summer and fall; the two in white alluding to snow, winter, and spring.  The wavy bands of blue and white on the smaller disc represent the gigantic expanse of open water within the zone served by the Command.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 9 November 1955.
